Breeding Philosophy

Our breeding philosophy is really very simple. We have carefully selected cattle from some of the most respected and well-known Registered Texas Longhorn breeders in the industry in which to build our herd. While we are aware of how important total horn size and length is to some breeders, it is only part of the equation for the Roberts' family breeding program. Size, color and conformity to breed standards have as much importance for us as horn length.  We much prefer the "traditional" Longhorn features - the kind that would not be out of character for the cattle drives up the Chisolm or Goodnight-Loving Trails in the late 1800's. Raising and breeding Registered Texas Longhorns is a passion for us, and we love introducing folks to the breed and the rich history that is the Texas Longhorn.
